How important measurement is! I totally agree with the models included in the readings related to measuring participant data. It's impossible to know how to improve without this perspective.

I wouldn't have imagined so many theories behind the different categories of games that can be used to enrich the teaching experience. It seems to me that creating a game from scratch is very challenging.

I really liked the rubric for evaluating games. I think I'm going to consider it very seriously for my courses. I use some different ones for classes, and I think it's an excellent tool for future references.

I've been using simulators, and since the pandemic, I've integrated many online games into my classes, and it's something I truly love. I think one reason I would never stop teaching online is precisely the energy that is achieved with games with the students. It's very rewarding to know that they have pedagogical value, according to so much research

Comment on Douglas Neville's post: I agree. Including a written transcript for any video recording can be so helpful. 

This course has made me more aware of my communication. For example, including captioning can help students with disabilities. 

I think many educators are unaware of the communication needs of some of our students. Technology has come a long way, and we could certainly students who could benefit from the use of speech generated devices. 

Comment on Heidi STREETMAN's post: I agree. Sometimes students could have benefitted in the course if they had made arrangements about their accommodation. 

It is so important to engage students and give them true learning experiences, as well as a connection with each other and their instructor.  Social Media is such a good way to accomplish this.  There is a need to update instructor methods to meet the students where they are - mentally, emotionally, and physically.

I have learned and reaffirmed so many things I believe about engaging students. An online environment is different. The LMS is such a critical piece. I am grateful I have worked as an instructor at my school and as teh director of distance education, becasue I feel I have learned the LMS inside and out. In addition, simple things that we regularly do at PIC need to continue based on this information. The relationships we attempt to build with students, our weekly communication, and reports all add up to student achievement.
